Fish head with pumpkin and potato

Any recipe with fish head gives a much flavourful dish. Here I am going to cook a simple dish with the fish head, pumpkin and potatoes as the main ingredients that will keep you’ll finger licking.


  • Pumpkin (Sliced)
  • Fish Head (Am using Rohu fish head)
  • Potatoes (Sliced)
  • Black cumin (Kalo Jeera)
  • Dry red chillies
  • Ginger paste (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder
  • Sugar
  • Mustard Oil


Fry the fish head pieces in mustard oil until golden brown and keep it aside.

In a pan take 3 table spoon of mustard oil and add the black cumin and dry red chillies to it. After it starts to splutter add the ginger paste to it. After 1 minute add the potatoes and pumpkins in the oil. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 15-20 mins until soft.

Open the lid and add the fried fish head pieces into it. Break it while mixing it with the pumpkins and potatoes. Add some water and cover the lid again and let it cook for another 15 mins. Uncover and your fish head curry with pumpkin and potato is ready to be served.
